When I went to spend three weeks with my mother last summer, she had not been to church in a few weeks. So we went.
She loves the music at her church. She loves the preaching. She loves all the elements of the worship service. But she doesn’t drive, and for various reasons her attendance is on the sporadic end of the spectrum.
That morning, as soon as the last blend of the choral benediction faded and it was kosher to speak aloud, she said,
“Can we do that again?”
She was glad to be there. So we went back the next two Sundays as well. The wonder of worship!
